Becoming No. 07

Becoming No. 07 is a one-of-a-kind ceramic vessel shaped by hand using a lighter, speckled clay body that remains visible across parts of the surface.

The familiar silhouette opens more at the lip, giving the piece a broader and more generous presence while still holding the calm proportions explored throughout the collection. The form feels grounded yet relaxed, allowing the surface to carry the movement created during the firing.

Layered glazes settle into tones of burgundy and deeper red, softened by pinks and warm caramel hues. A faint passage of blue appears gently within the surface, while areas of exposed clay provide contrast and texture. The interaction between glaze and raw material gives the piece a sense of age and warmth, as though the colour has developed over time rather than been applied.

Becoming No. 07 belongs to the Becoming collection — a small body of work exploring material, variation, and the transformation created inside the kiln. Each piece exists only once and cannot be repeated.
