You’re on the
inside now.

You’re in, welcome to the world of Carving and Handbuilding.

This workshop is something I’ve been shaping for a long time. It’s a deep dive into the way I build and carve techniques that came from years of trial, experimentation, and learning to trust the process. It’s not just about finishing a piece, it’s about how enjoyable and freeing the making can be.

Handbuilding can feel like a slow, frustrating dance—hours shaping something that starts to crack before it’s even finished. It’s delicate, unpredictable, and somehow never quite as satisfying as you imagined. And carving? That’s a whole other story. The lines don’t land right. The edges blur. Instead of crisp, intentional texture, it looks messy, like the clay was dragged rather than carved. Sometimes it even breaks right through and just like that, the whole piece is gone. That moment? It’s the worst.

Tired of handbuilding that takes forever and carving that feels like sabotage? There’s a better way.

This is where everything clicks fast, flowing handbuilding and carving that feels like meditation.

In this workshop, I’ll show you the exact approach I use to create sculptural forms that come together with ease, pieces that grow quickly, hold their shape beautifully, and invite that deep, grounded rhythm in the making. You’ll learn how I build a 25cm vessel in just a few intentional touches, and how carving goes from being a stressful afterthought to something you actually look forward to. It becomes meditative. Addictive, even. There’s a shift that happens when the process starts to flow when the techniques are solid, the clay responds, and your hands know what to do. That’s what this is about.

This isn’t textbook.
it’s real studio-tested techniques that changes everything.

I didn’t learn this from a course or manual, I figured it out by doing. Over and over again. These methods were shaped by the hours I’ve spent in the studio, refining every step so the process feels effortless and intuitive. What I’ll share with you isn’t generic. It’s personal. It’s the exact way I build, the tools I use, and the small decisions that make a big difference. You’ll get links to the same tools I work with and a generous discount I’ve secured just for this workshop. As you start to put it into practice, you’ll feel the shift. The speed. The flow. The confidence. It’s not about doing more, it’s about doing it differently.

You won’t need many hours a day or a full studio to get results.

This workshop was designed to fit into real life. Whether you have a home setup or a shared studio, you’ll be able to follow along and apply everything right away. The core lessons are short, clear, and packed with value no fluff, no filler. You’ll get lifetime access, so you can rewatch as often as you like, and each module is focused on helping you actually make, not just watch. This is about shifting your practice with simple, effective steps and building pieces you love without burning out or overthinking.

You’re not the only one who’s been waiting for this.

Ever since I started sharing little glimpses of my carving and handbuilding process, the messages haven’t stopped. When are you teaching this? Can you show us how you do that? This workshop is the answer. It’s the full experience, built around the exact techniques I use every day. If you’ve ever looked at my work and thought, I want to make something like that, just know, you absolutely can.

Still Have a Question?

Totally get it — here’s the part where most people go, “Okay wait, I just have one more question…” Here are the most common ones I get…

Will this work with my clay?

Yes, absolutely. The techniques work with any clay body and any firing range. I’ll also walk you through the specific clays I use and why, so you can decide what suits your style best.

Can I do it with just a few tools?

Totally. You can get started with a basic beginner set and even just one carving tool—I’ll show you exactly how. I’ll also share my full tool list (including a few surprising non-ceramic ones) and give you links, plus a discount to make it easy.

Is this beginner-friendly?

Very. I actually created this workshop because so many beginners were drawn to Colour Secrets but needed help with the earlier stages. We’ll start simple—think side plates or trinket trays—and build all the way up to more complex sculptural forms. You’ll go at your own pace. I’ll meet you where you’re at.

What if I only have access to a community studio?

No problem at all. Everything in this workshop is designed to be done from home or shared spaces—you don’t need a fancy studio setup.

Will I have lifetime access?

Yes. You’ll be able to revisit everything as many times as you like. There’s no rush, no expiry. It’s yours to keep.

What if I’m pretty new to ceramics?

That’s actually ideal. You’ll come into this with fewer bad habits and more openness to building your practice in a way that’s intuitive and joyful. This is the course I wish I had when I was starting out.

Can the pieces be food safe?

Yep! I’ll guide you through how to make pieces that are beautiful and functional, using the right combinations of clay and surface finishing.
